“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
I’m back! I can’t believe how many weeks have gone by without managing to write one single post for my blog. I’m also gutted that I haven’t managed to keep up my weekly commitment to my weekly #LivingArrows posts, hosted by the amazing Donna Whishart at What The Redhead Said.
We’ve been up to so much over the past couple of months that my blog has had to go on the back burner for a little bit. Simply because, what with returning to work through a restructure, sorting out a nanny, selling our house and buying a new one, well, there just haven’t been enough hours in the day. Oh yes, I’ve also been looking after two small children! Just about anyway.
So what have the two little monkeys been up to lately?
Choupie is getting more independent and confident by the day and is due to turn 2.5 in a month’s time. After starting potty training before Christmas, she’s now refusing to let me take her to the loo and she insists on going on her own and closing the door after her (except those times when I really need her to go on her own, like while I’m feeding her brother or making dinner).
She’s also flying around on her scooter and her latest adrenalin kick involves a zip wire. Happy at first for me to sit her on it and run alongside her, she then wanted me to put her on it and let her go. Heart in my mouth? Absolutely! But then I know I’ll probably still feel like that when she’s 18 so I have to let her have a go when I think the risks are contained. She managed to hold on tight all the time I was with her, so why not. And she LOVED it. Just in true Choupie style you can never tell from the photo!
After starting out being a nightmare to wean, this one now loves his food. Which is music to my ears after having to deal with a fussy toddler. My only worry is that the nickname I gave him at Christmas may actually turn out to be spot on and I hope he doesn’t actually turn out to be a proper, ÉNORME pudding. Here he is this weekend eating his first ever ice cream. Well, he actually ended up with two as I needed someone to hold mine while I was getting Choupie up on the zipwire! Happy boy!
I’m just pleased to know our favourite ice cream parlour is now back in time for spring. Hoorah to light nights and warm sunshine!
